I would like to introduce myself, my name is Dawn Orban and I am the Director of our school. The children and some parents call me Miss Dawn. Fall of 2009 began my third year at our school. We have undergone many changes and a great deal of growth over the last three years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Education. Before I came to this school I had the opportunity to teach in a private kindergarten and created an enriched pre-k curriculum.

I have been married 22 years and have two sons ages 19 and 15. They keep us very busy with soccer and lacrosse. We also have a dog named Callie.

It is my great pleasure to oversee our school. What a joy it is to see the children laugh, smile, make friends, and learn.

The school year 09-10 will be my fifth at St. Mark’s Bright Beginnings Pre School. I have spent three years in the Bright Starters class, one year in the Pre School class and now as the Assistant Director. I possess a great deal of experience that extends from the classroom to the home.  I have a background in Elementary and Special Education and as a parent of four grown children ranging in the age from 20 to 29.

Raising my children has been and continues to be my most treasured live experience. Each one of them are definitely and individual leaving their own creative mark in this world. As a family our best times together are spent entertaining family and friends with lots of good food and enjoying summer fun activities such as camping, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Our twelve year old yellow lab Amber also joins in the fun. My husband and I have just celebrated our 30th anniversary. We enjoy going on cruise vacations together for special occasions.

My experience here at Bright Beginnings has been an enjoyable one. I have found teaching the children extremely rewarding. Now as the Assistant Director I am also enjoying getting to know and interacting with all the children in the school. I feel blessed to be able to follow my passion, not only to raise my own children but be able to work with all of your children. Making a difference in a child’s life will always be my most important job.
